German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius ruled out supplying German fighter jets to Ukraine now and said that this issue could be discussed in a few months.

He stated this in a comment on the ARD TV channel , “European Truth” writes.

“If the sky over Ukraine remains safe for the next three to four months, then we can talk about all further steps – now it makes sense to use armored units,” Pistorius said.

According to him, the issue of the supply of fighter jets is currently not in the center of attention.

Pistorius said that now the priority task is to ensure the safety of the airspace over Ukraine, and for this a functioning air defense system with a sufficient amount of ammunition is needed.

The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, after the Rammstein-style meeting in Brussels, said that he had  no news  regarding the supply of combat aircraft to Ukraine.

Earlier, the media reported that Western intelligence indicated that Russia was building up aircraft near the border with Ukraine , indicating that Moscow was preparing to use its planes and helicopters in the war to support the faltering ground offensive.

We will remind, the Secretary General of NATO  explained that the Alliance is discussing the provision of Western-style fighter jets to Ukraine, and the speed with which such assistance can be provided is important in this regard.
