India has urged Bangladesh’s interim government to protect Hindus and other minorities amid rising threats and attacks. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stressed the need for fair handling of the case of monk Chinmoy Krishna Das.

India has repeatedly raised concerns about violence against minorities in Bangladesh. Jaiswal emphasized that the interim government must fulfill its duty to safeguard all minority communities.

Regarding Chinmoy Krishna Das’s sedition charge, Jaiswal called for a fair and transparent legal process. He also noted that Iskcon, with which Das is associated, supports peaceful advocacy for minority protection.

Jaiswal reiterated India’s position that Bangladesh should ensure the safety and rights of minorities. He urged authorities to take responsibility for their protection and maintain peaceful coexistence.

Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested at Dhaka airport for allegedly raising a saffron flag above the national flag. Iskcon expressed support for Das and called for a peaceful environment for minorities in Bangladesh.
