Supporting the G20 Priority Agenda, Indonesia Holds a Bilateral Meeting with India

In a series of G20 activities in India, the Minister of Finance (Minister of Finance) Sri Mulyani Indrawati held a Bilateral Meeting with the Host, Indian Minister of Finance Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, in Bangalore, on Thursday (23/02). In this regard, multilateral coordination and cooperation in the field of trade and investment in overcoming various global challenges, including the energy and food crisis, is very important.

After completing his leadership duties as the G20 Presidency in 2022, Indonesia’s task did not necessarily end. Indonesia is still part of the G20 Troika with India as the holder of the G20 Presidency this year and also Brazil which will hold the G20 Presidency in 2024.

As a Troika, Indonesia will support the priorities of India’s G20 implementation, namely

  1. Strengthening the Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) to address current global challenges;
  2. Managing global debt vulnerabilities;
  3. Financing an inclusive, resilient and sustainable future city;
  4. Globally coordinated approach to unsecured Crypto Assets;
  5. Advancing Financial Inclusion and Productivity Gains;
  6. Funding to address the impacts of climate change and sustainable development;
  7. Improving financial coordination for health including the Pandemic Fund; And
  8. International Taxation

In addition, Indonesia is also committed to always being ready to help realize the priority agenda of India’s G20 Presidency as well as the agenda inherited from Indonesia’s own G20 Presidency. Indonesia is also willing to accept ASEAN’s input and support for joint progress and smooth running during the Indonesia Chairmanship in 2023, particularly in supporting sustainable finance and a green economy.

That way, we hope that collaboration between G20 members, especially India and Indonesia, can be strengthened for a better world future.
